What Skills Does a CPA Need?
Accounting professors, partners in accounting firms and recruiters from the “Big
Four” firms (Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers) agree that landing a good first
job requires:
(i) Good Grades
(ii) A good attitude (which
includes good communication and “people” skills)
(iii) A good track record of participation in accounting-related
clubs on campus and non-business related activities as will.
You
need to build a record demonstrating all three things while you’re in college.
